On February 18, 2021, the Perseverance rover(NASA) landed on Mars. The rover’s main job is to seek signs of ancient life, as well as collect samples of rock and regolith for further analysis.


The SuperCam is an instrument used to provide imaging, chemical composition analysis, and mineralogy at a distance. Diamond’s AVIM® interconnects and custom Interface Modules (IMOD) are helping make the mission successful. 





The DIAMOND AVIM® connector series is characterized by its vibration and shock resistance making it ideal for harsh environment applications. Other common features of these connectors are the low insertion loss (IL) values, as well as the high return loss (RL) achieved by using our Active Core Alignment technology and ultra-polishing processes.





Interface Modules (IMOD)


The Interface Module (IMOD) has been developed as a half adapter for free space applications. These high quality IMOD adapters ensure precise and accurate alignment in both the axial and radial directions between each connector and adapter.

Our products have already been successfully used on various missions, such as the last Mars mission, the Mars Rover Curiosity in 2012. The operation time of this mission was initially scheduled to be two years, but the rover is still in operation.
